Community Classes

All of our aquatic classes are held in a private pool. Our private setting allows all participants the optimal comfort level and quiet to focus on personal and group goals. Participants must be able to safely participate and exercise in a group setting at the discretion of the instructor.
Class sign up will be available 2 weeks prior to the start of the next session. Please note you must submit your payment within 24 hours of the receipt of your approval e-mail.  If you do not submit a payment within 24 hours your slot will no longer be available.  The cost is for the complete class session, no substitutions are allowed. Wait lists are specific to each class. You must sign up for each new session. Drop in's are available as space allows for $12 per individual class session.  Please call ahead for availability at 231-932-3172.

Has your up and go up and went? Join this upbeat early morning class that combines toning, strengthening, and cardio by using a variety of equipment to start feeling energized in no time. It’s a great way to start the day!                                                                                                                           
Wednesdays & Fridays, 8:00 am - 9:00 am:  $100/5 weeks



Morning Jump Start:

 

Aerobic conditioning, core strengthening, muscle toning, and flexibility exercises will create a full body, multilevel workout to kick off your day! A variety of resistance equipment will be utilized to impact the intensity of the workout. Active adults of all ages with minimal or no restrictions will find this class a perfect way to begin the day.                                                                                                                           
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:00 am - 9:00 am:  $100/5 weeks

 

Hour of Power:

 

This upbeat class offers active adults a chance to focus on stretching, muscle toning, and cardio to help increase flexibility, strength, and endurance. A variety of equipment will be used in both shallow and deep water. Participants will be moving to the music while getting in a good work out!

Tuesdays & Thursdays 5 pm - 6 pm:  $100/5weeks

 

ABC's of Life: 

 

This class is designed for individuals who have noticed basic balance deficits in their daily life. The class will focus on identifying and restoring standing balance postures while enhancing overall coordination through the properties of water. The water will serve as both a protectant for falls as well as a challenge for resistance and flow.           

Tuesdays, 12 pm - 1 pm:  $60/6 weeks

              or

Thursdays, 12 pm - 1 pm:   $60/6 weeks

 

Ai Chi :

A simple water exercise and relaxation program. The class uses a combination of deep breathing and slow, broad movements of the arms, legs, and torso in flowing continual patterns with accentuation on overall body awareness and strength. Upon completion of a 1:1 session with the aquatics instructor, approval is required to move into the Ai Chi II & III classes.

 

Ai Chi II (Intermediate):

Once a participant is comfortable and confident in Ai Chi I they will be able to progress into the Ai Chi II class. This is a great class for those who only require occasional guidance to maintain the proper breathing and exercise movements.           

Wednesdays 12 pm - 1 pm $60/6 weeks

 

Ai Chi III (Advanced):

Silence is key for Ai Chi III. Upon mastering Ai Chi II, participants will be able to indulge in this ultra relaxing, quiet, smooth flowing class.
