New Book The Chickadee Spirit

 

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - Bill Smith, best-selling storyteller and author of Chickadees at Night will be the featured speaker Nov. 12 at Hawthorn Cottage at Grand Traverse Pavilions. The 2 pm. program is part of the popular Cottage Coffee series.

 

Smith recently published The Chickadee Spirit. He will have both Chickadee books at  the presentation and will be available for signing. For more information, call (231) 932-3027.          

 

A resident of Northern Michigan, Smith first fell in love with chickadees when he heard them singing during a cold winter near his home. He is a retired elementary school principal. He is also the author of numerous plays and educational material for children. His plays include Lewis & Clark: A Campfire Tale, Abe’s Shoulders, and Harry The Merry Cherry.

 

Smith’s Chickadee books are illustrated by award-winning water color artist Charles Murphy of Traverse City. Murphy has exhibited nationally and is a member of the American Watercolor Society and the International Society of Experimental Artists.

Following Smith, the Cottage Coffee series will conclude Dec. 10 with Michael O’Shea, on-air radio personality at WCCW Oldies 107.5 FM.
