DEBORAH B. ALLEN RECERTIFIED AS A CERTIFIED FUND RAISING EXECUTIVE (CFRE)

Traverse City, MI – CFRE International has named Deborah B. Allen as a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).  Deborah Allen, Executive Director of the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation, joins over 5,300 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation.

Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to serve to not-for-profit organizations.  Initially they have also passed a rigorous written examination testing to knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive, and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights.

The CFRE credential was created to identify for the public and employers those individuals who possess the knowledge, skills and commitment to perform fundraising duties in an effective and ethical manner.  Since the certification is a voluntary achievement, the CFRE credential demonstrates the highest level of commitment on the part of Deborah to herself, the fundraising profession, and, the donors who are served.

”We are very fortunate to have Deb at the Foundation with her level of expertise in fundraising and development,” said Kory Hansen, Administrator/CEO of Grand Traverse Pavilions. “As we work to complete our capital campaign for Program for all-inclusive care for the elderly (PACE), raise funds for our campus beautification, and garner support for the charitable services of the Pavilions, Deb’s guidance on these projects is invaluable.”

CFRE recipients are awarded certification for a three-year period.  In order to maintain certification status applicants must demonstrate on-going fundraising employment and fundraising results, and continue with their professional education.  Employers and donors who work with CFRE’s know they are getting a professional who is committed to the best outcomes for their organization and has the requisite knowledge and skills. There are only two CFRE recipients in Traverse City.

“Deb is a very professional representative of the Pavilions and reinforces that with her CFRE designation which will help advise and assist those with advanced giving questions relating to Charitable intent,” said Dennis Prout, President of the Grand Traverse Pavilions Foundation.  “Deb’s ability to communicate the vision of the PACE program and keep a variety of details in proper order is extremely helpful as well.  Deb is a great asset for the Traverse City and greater northern Michigan region.  We are fortunate to have her honesty and integrity employed here for our benefit in building the Program for all-inclusive care for the elderly (PACE).”

CFRE International is an independent organization dedicated to the certification of fundraising executives by setting standards in philanthropic practice.  Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and led by a small professional staff, CFRE International consistently meets the highest standards for certification excellence and is itself accredited by the National Commission of Certifying Agencies.

As the premier global credential for career fundraisers, the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) designation is endorsed and supported by the world’s leading professional and philanthropic associations.

Grand Traverse Pavilions, its Foundation, and CFRE International congratulates Deborah B. Allen for achieving the CFRE designation.
